Armpit Stains

Last year we were proud to be featured in Men’s Health magazine in an article about how effective Sweatshield Undershirts are as a way to stop armpit stains in a piece called “how to prevent an armpit stain”. It was great to get this recognition from such a well-known magazine and it was an interesting topic that merits further discussion.

Firstly armpit stains are different to underarm sweat marks. Sweat marks are the wet patches that form under your armpits and on your back and chest during the course of the day whereas an armpit stain is the long term result of that constant sweating. It is that nasty white cruddy residue that builds up over time on the armpit of your shirts or manifests itself as a yellow discolouration.

Whether it is a stiff white build up or just yellow staining, either way it really ruins your clothes and dramatically shortens their lifespan. Unfortunately for me the problem was the former where my clothes accumulated quite a cruddy build up in the underarm and most shirts or tops that were worn directly against the skin would only last 6 to 7 months before I needed to throw them away. Annoying…and expensive!!!

It is no exaggeration to say that my shirts last 2 or 3 times longer than before now that I use Sweatshield Undershirts every day. They were not designed with this in mind but it has been an interesting side benefit that I have noticed and so have many of our customers. It is great to not have to throw away shirts because of armpit stains, although of course I do still get that discolouration of the collar but that is nowhere near as big a problem.

I know I am the owner of the company and need to say this but seriously, Sweatshield Undershirts pay for themselves many times over purely in reduced clothing costs! Over the coming weeks and months we will be looking at other ways of stopping armpit stains using things like adhesive sweat shields, sweat blocking wipes and sweat proof undershirts by other companies. Also we will look at how to get rid of existing stains using products like Deo Geo.

Thanks for reading and see you soon!
